Pathways Community Center Provides Comprehensive Services in Single Location

Ten years ago, a study pinpointing the needs the area’s homeless served as the catalyst for what was to become The Pathways Community Center.  The center, once home to a former school and business center, will combine the man-power of dozens of local resource groups under one roof for people in need or homeless.  Located as 546 S. Cherry Road, the 4-acre, 40,000 SF will offer resources from such organizations as Renew Our Community, The Haven, and York County Public Library, among others. Services will include food, clothing, housing, medical care, substance abuse treatment and transportation assistance.

The Center incorporated in January 2018 and since that time kick-started a massive fundraising campaign, of which J.M. Cope is proud to play a significant role.

In the Fall of 2018, the J.M. Cope team participated in the Center’s XPrize contest.  Along with several other community groups, and civic and business leaders, three local neighborhoods — Laurel Creek, Huntington, and Herlong Ridge — rallied together to raise over $100,000 for the Center. J.M. Cope, in partnership with our sister company, Steele’s Mechanical, proudly presented Pathways with a matching donation of $100,000.

We’re excited to bear witness to the impact Pathways will surely have in our hometown.  To be a part of this innovative approach to community care, please visit www.pathwaysyc.org.
