The City of Monroe and its residents were extremely excited about the revitalization of this iconic piece of property on their Main Street. The project scope included renovations to the 1940s-era Center Theatre and expansion into an adjacent building on City-owned land. The building now serves as a multi-use performing arts center. J.M. Cope was able to stabilize the building by installing shoring throughout the structure, removing load bearing walls and replacing with steel components, and then removing the shoring. All stairways within the building were rebuilt.
