J.M. Cope Named a Middle Market Leader by the CBJ

J.M. Cope was recognized in the Charlotte Business Journal’s inaugural 2018 Middle Market Leaders program. For this new program, Charlotte Business Journal measured revenue growth, job creation and economic impact of companies throughout the Charlotte region with annual revenue of between $50M and $2B.  J.M. Cope ranked 4thamong the 17 companies honored, a direct reflection of the measured growth J.M. Cope has experienced over the last several years.

Our second-generation company has grown from a $20M annual company in 2013 to over $72M in 2018 primarily because the firm’s work is centered around facilities that help communities grow — such as churches, office buildings, schools, medical facilities, and municipal buildings — so as surrounding cities like Charlotte and Columbia grow, so does J.M. Cope.

High profile projects that have led to both company and community growth include the Lowenstein Building renovation and Rock Hill Sports and Event Center in Knowledge Park. These key projects in the high-profile redevelopment of Rock Hill’s former industrial core continue to highlight J.M. Cope’s role as an important community partner.

Our company’s president Andrew Cope noted that the company’s growth offers us more opportunity to give back to the community. We have supported organizations vital to the community such as the Rock Hill Schools Education Foundation, Pathways Community Center, and Habitat for Humanity.  And, as we turn our eyes to the future, we will continue in this vein, solidifying our reputation as a quality builder and trusted partner.
